About me

This site is dedicated to a relative who died after receiving a COVID-19 shot

John Leintz

I currently specialize in both Full Stack development and Agile Methodologies, including SAFe 5.0 and LeSS. I have spent most of my career as a software developer but have also worked as a manager, software development team lead, project manager, and automation tester in fortune 500 companies.

I put this site together because a relative became ill and subsequently died after receiving a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. As I investigated the matter, I was alarmed by what I was finding. On the one hand, yes, I am not a doctor or trained in medicine, so what do I know. Guilty as charged. On the other hand, as a software developer, I can tell you that the best products are created by including stakeholder' feedback from many domains. Insights that developers alone may miss are invaluable.

Also, my first job out of college was at the Mayo Clinic. I worked closely with hospital administrators in my role as a program which has given me some insight into the inner workings of the medical system, so, I am not flying completely blind.

As (mostly) an outsider, I have noticed that Agile practices appear to be lacking or completely missing in regulatory agencies such as the NIH, CDC and FDA. Instead, a traditional hierarchical system that can lead to the cult of personality (Dr. Fauci) exists. You end up with many yes men/women who must appease the purse holding leaders view to receive funding. Independent thinking and science, for that matter, are squashed. People want to keep their jobs and budget, so they go along to get along. This, at first glance, appear to be a significant flaw in the current system that has cast an ugly shadow over the medical field in the last several decades. As I learn more, I will expand on this.

Since I have no vested interest in a predetermined outcome, outsiders like myself may be better positioned to question what is accurate than those worried about losing their funding or jobs. Doctors having to follow protocols outlined by administrators sounds exceptionally problematic to me. Also, since stakeholders from many disciplines are not included, it appears one-dimensional sub optimizations are made—much more on this to come.

To be clear, I do not blame doctors for this predicament; in fact, I think they are victims of significant system design flaws. As 'the great' Edward Deming pointed out decades ago, “People work in the system that management created.” In the past, independent doctors and scientists did not have to worry about appeasing dysfunctional systems created by hands-off administrators and managers. In my view, this is one of the core issues facing the medical industry at all levels today.

Finally, this site is dedicated to a relative who died after receiving the vaccine. I am sorry I did not do more to prevent this from happing.

Note - I am not a doctor and make no recommendations. Please consult your doctor for medical advice. Any information on this site reflects my opinions (which may change) and should not be taken as medical advice. Unlike Lord Fauci, I admit I might be wrong.
